Public Policy

Please summarize the primary responsibilities and estimated amount of time:

  • Participate in the AAUW Wisconsin Public Policy Committee meetings monthly.
  • Facilitate the planning of Public Policy events.
  • Write articles for the Post Graduate and AAUW West Suburban website relevant to public policy issues. (1 hour per month)
  • Update the Board and membership through information and presentations on relevant Public Policy topics. (Varies depending on relevant issues)
  • Create monthly announcements to inform members of how AAUW Public Policy Priorities align with meeting topics/speakers (1 hour per month)
  • Personally, stay informed on public policy topics through AAUW National and AAUW Wisconsin. (ongoing)

This position provides a communication vehicle for important topics related to public policy including but not limited to women’s rights, equal pay and equity in the workplace, voting issues, racial, ethnic, social and gender justice.
