Primary responsibilities:
- Our guiding principle relating to posting on Facebook is to primarily promote and support AAUW mission. Posts must fall within our mission.
- Facebook posting requests must be submitted in writing to the Facebook Coordinator for consideration. The information shared on Facebook is at your discretion. You may seek guidance from the Public Policy Coordinator if you question if the post falls within our guidelines. In rare cases, a requested post may be referred to the Branch President and/or Board for review.
- You may post non-mission posts such as posts of Branch sponsored events and activities such as the Style Show, Out & About, etc. Just remember we do not support specific political parties, politicians, or candidates.
- The goal is to post at least once or twice a week.
- You need to secure content and photos from members and/or the AAUW Photographer pertaining to Out & About and other activities.
- Produce any other posts – announcing Branch meetings, Book Club selections, anything else that might be of interest.
- It takes about 15 minutes each week.
The value of this function is for:
- Recruitment of new members
- Retention of members and to provide current information to them
- Sharing with the community what we do and stand for
- Creating a digital photo record of our events and initiatives each year.
Skills necessary:
- Knowledge of how to post Facebook
- How to create graphics for original posts
- Ability to work closely with others to obtain photos and content for posts.
- Skill in social media and communication. Ability to track down photos and content.
