New role – focused on educating members about National’s diversity initiatives, and incorporating them into our work at WSM.
Diversity (formerly known as DEI) is incredibly important and timely for understanding the climate of today’s world. Aligning with the AAUW mission statement, this role will bring focus to vital topics for all members – equity and advocacy.
Estimated time is minimal and sporadic depending on coordinator’s interests and ambitions. Attendance at board (one hour/month) is strongly encouraged and branch meetings (two hours/month) attendance is requested. Writing The Post Graduate articles is flexible.
Skills that you feel are necessary to be successful in this position:
- Ability to stay current on diversity initiatives, self starter, leadership skills, communication skills.
- Ability to monitor National website and Facebook pages for timely information.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to write and communicate.
