Primary responsibilities and estimated amount of time:
- Acts as bylaws resource and advisor to branch leadership and branch members
- Submits updates of AAUW-WSM bylaws when needed, especially after bylaws change voted on at the AAUW Convention and AAUW-WI Convention
- Notifies branch leadership when national or state bylaws changes have occurred that may affect branch bylaws.
- Addresses additional bylaws-related requests from branch president if needed
- Attends WSM Board Meetings as needed
- Approximate time per month is 2-2.5 hours
This position facilitates communication about bylaws, assists with accuracy of bylaws, and raises awareness of bylaws that guide AAUW.
Skills that you feel are necessary to be successful in this position:
- Procedure management skills and past experience with organizational bylaws preferred.
Any bylaws changes required to bring branch bylaws into conformity with national AAUW requirements do not require vote of the branch members. Branch bylaws changes not mandated by the national AAUW bylaws may be amended by two thirds vote of those branch members present at the annual meeting and voting, provided notice shall have been given to the members.
