Primary responsibilities:
- Collect, record, and maintain record of donations received from members.
- Coordinate monthly reconcile with branch treasurer for shares donations.
- Provide articles for The Post Graduate and announcements at branch meetings.
- Work collaboratively with other members and committees to ensure we reach annual goals.
- Attend board meetings to stay informed of branch events in which shares is a part of.
- Communicate with annual pledge donors about their commitment.
- Thank donors for their contributions. Recognize all donors at April or May meeting. Donors of $100 or more need to be thanked by a note from the Treasurer.
- Submit annual report of contributions.
The Shares Chair oversees all branch efforts that contribute towards our six local scholarships (Alverno, Carroll University, Mount Mary University, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Milwaukee Area Technical College and Waukesha County Technical College) and Pearls for Teen Girls, and STEM activities (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) These are all important contributions to AAUW’s mission to advance gender equity for women and girls through education.
Skills that are necessary to be successful in this position:
- Organization
- attention to details
- No specific technology is needed to perform this role, although basic Excel competence is helpful for record keeping.
- Outgoing personality a plus.
