Membership

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Attend board meetings
  • Attend branch meetings
    • Recruit volunteer to be greeters
    • Manage lanyards for the meetings
  • Recruit new members using Shape the Future Campaigns, any public event is a Shape the Future event
  • Work with branch finance officer and branch data base chair to maintain membership lists
    • Process new applications
    • Update national data base with any changes that occur throughout the year regarding current members
  • Collaborate with mentor program chair to support and retain membership
  • Provide leadership during the June mass renewal process working with: treasurer, mentorship chair, directory coordinator.
  • Maintain rolling renewal list and follow-up with reminders are the months progress.
  • Periodically write an article for the Post Graduate

Maintaining a vibrant, active membership group is essential to the health and well-being of AAUW WSM.  It is through members that collectively we can reach the mission of advocating for women and girls at the national and local level.

Skills that are necessary to be successful in this position:

  • People skills; enjoy meeting and knowing branch members
  • Cooperation skills: work with board members most specifically: finance officer, database chair, and mentor chair
  • Organizational skills
